How we work

Stated plainly, without claims we cannot evidence

Constraints first

Every engagement starts by separating what genuinely governs the design, such as ground, loads, hydraulics, capacity, access and programme, from what merely appears to. The governing case drives the scheme.

Single coordinated team

Disciplines are coordinated inside the practice. Interfaces between structure, ground, services and civil works are resolved in the model and in review, not left for the site to discover.

Documented reasoning

Assumptions, data gaps and the limits of what has been analysed are written down and issued with the deliverable. Where information is missing, we say so rather than assume it.

Delivery sequence

Stages are scoped per appointment; not every project requires all eight

  1. S1

    Scoping & feasibility

    Define the engineering question, the constraints that actually govern, and what information is missing. Deliverables at this stage are options, risks and the basis for a defensible decision.

  2. S2

    Site & data review

    Review available survey, investigation, as-built and operational data. Where the record is incomplete, we say so and identify what must be obtained before design decisions are fixed.

  3. S3

    Concept & option studies

    Comparative schemes assessed against buildability, cost drivers, programme, operability and durability, never a single preferred answer presented without alternatives.

  4. S4

    Analysis & design development

    Discipline design developed with internal checking, documented assumptions and clear boundaries between what has been analysed and what remains subject to specialist input.

  5. S5

    Coordination & documentation

    Model-based coordination across disciplines, followed by drawings, schedules and specifications issued under document control.

  6. S6

    Approvals & procurement support

    Support for permitting submissions, tender queries, technical evaluation and clarification of design intent to bidding contractors.

  7. S7

    Construction support

    Submittal review, RFI response, site observation where appointed, and resolution of conditions found during construction.

  8. S8

    Commissioning & asset handover

    Witnessing support, review of commissioning records where in scope, and structured handover of the information the operator will actually need.

Project record

Published only when the client has released it

We do not publish work we have not been cleared to publish.

Much engineering work sits under confidentiality, live procurement or operational-security constraints. Rather than dress reference photography as a portfolio, the project record is maintained as a structured index and released case by case with written client permission.

Relevant references, scopes and the engineers who delivered them are provided directly to clients and procurement teams during enquiry or prequalification.
